K is for Korean Alphabet
PROJECT TYPE
Grid Studies, Layout, Print
A series of grid studies that explores three types of grid systems: manuscript, modular, and deconstructive. The dynamic use of Korean letters plays alongside grid structures, conveying a sense of consistency and structure and showing alignment and balance through their distinctive combinations of lines and circles. The Korean alphabet presents simplicity in its form and shapes that simulate the structure in each study of grids.
design process
This project focused on translating complex research on coral reef ecosystems into a clear and compelling visual narrative. Through in-depth research, iterative concept development, and the creation of multiple data models, the information was refined to prioritize clarity, hierarchy, and engagement. The final result is two data posters that communicate the rapid decline of coral reefs and their economic significance, using simplified data and visual storytelling to convey urgency without overwhelming the viewer.
